I was feeling very sad last night. Like I'd been left out of an arms race, or something like that.

So, I went to the local bike store today and bought Atom carbon fiber handle bars, an ultra light stem (whose name escapes me at the moment, but it weighs 95 grams), a pair of Bontrager triple X race light wheels and a Campy Record Ti/Steel cassette. They were not successful in talking me into the carbon seat post or ultra light carbon saddle, maybe they will when I pick it up on Friday.

I feel much better now. As with Beetle, only the operator can be blamed now.
