Left my cycling shoes in my wives car, but that didn't stop me. Slapped some spd pedals on the bike and was off in no time with my Vittoria MTB shoes. I think I prefer them.
Being able to walk properly is a bonus

- 40min on the tacx yesterday. Not calibrated so forget the power data. Av HR 145. Max 165.
-30 min. today as a warmup to watch the giro. 205 av watts. 31 kmh. 90 cadence. No HR data.

Sweating like a pig in the heat, but not riding outdoors until allergies are better. Going to try Pasco's cure.

Recovery coming along well. 30 min on the Tacx. Avg watts 200. 2-3 min @ 300 before my daughter told me to be quiet (stai zitto). HR avg was in the low 130s. I managed to keep it over 160 for a while, but the HRM went crazy, giving random values between 220 and 111. I think it's because I was using my ancient polar strap.
Cadence 87.
No outdoor training at the moment because I am in my peak allergy period. The Tacx was a great investment if only ofr this alone....

On Saturday there was a 10/20k run around Bari. I couldn't run but took advantage of the streets being closed to take my son out for a ride. We got in 10k before a cold and violent thunderstorm shut us down. On Sunday there was a 30k ride around town with thousands of riders. After having witnessed a couple of crashes my son and I waited until the bulk of the riders were past before setting out. We rode out past the recently demolished buildings then doubled back along the coast to the big lighthouse. We got caught in the rain but pressed on this time. All in all we did 20k.
I guess it's time to upgrade my sons ride, he deserves it. I can't wait to take on some longer rides with him.
